We get to see his life unfold and why he may be the way he is in the rest of the book. While we discover the relationship, or lack there of, that Miles and Tate have building there is another story line going on. There are times when they are doing… adult stuff… where its so well written you almost feel as if you are intruding on someone’s personal thoughts and feelings. Tate and Miles have a connection that is undeniable and incredibly well written. I have this visual in my head of him and it’s fantastic. As that relationship begins to be explored, we quickly find there are some dark secrets in the past that can absolutely ruin a persons future.

In the process she meets some of her brothers best friends from pilot school. “Ugly Love” follows the story of Tate Collins as she moves in with her brother to finish nursing school and work. So if you are expecting a PG 13 story like most of Hoover’s other books… this one would likely be rated R for some sexual content. I was surprised to find this was more Romance/Women’s Fiction than YA Fiction. When I read about “Ugly Love” I knew I had to give it a try. All aimed towards a YA Fiction audience, in my opinion. I loved her books “Finding Hope” And “Hopeless”. They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.Ĭolleen Hoover has always been a YA Fiction writer to me.

Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction.

They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight.
